ARS Solutions ("we", "us", or "our") operates the My Tutor application ("Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Email address and password (for email-based registration)
• Display name (optional, during registration)
• Questions you submit to the AI tutor
• Comments you post via the comments widget

Information collected via Google OAuth:

• Name and display name
• Email address
• Profile photo URL
• Google account identifier

Information collected automatically:

• Login timestamps (last login date and time)
• Basic visitor analytics (via third-party counter)

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Data Storage

• Server-side: User account data is stored in application memory during the server session. Data is not persisted to a database and is cleared when the server restarts.
• Client-side: Authentication tokens (JWT) and cached user data are stored in your browser's localStorage. These persist until you log out or clear your browser data.
• Passwords: If you register with email/password, passwords are handled securely. We recommend using strong, unique passwords.

4. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with the following third-party providers, each with their own privacy policies:

5. Cookies and Local Storage

• The Service uses browser localStorage to store your authentication token, cached user profile, and comment widget identity.
• Session cookies may be used for the authentication flow.
• Third-party widgets (visitor counter, comments) may set their own cookies.
• You can clear all stored data by logging out or clearing your browser data.

6. Children's Privacy

My Tutor is an educational tool designed to help students learn. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

7. Data Security

• Authentication tokens are signed using JWT with a secret key.
• All communications are encrypted via HTTPS.
• Google OAuth ensures we never see or store your Google password.
• While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data stored by the Service.
• Delete your account data by contacting us.
• Withdraw consent by logging out and revoking Google OAuth access from your Google account settings.
• Clear local data by logging out (which removes all localStorage entries) or clearing your browser data.

9. Data Retention

User account data is stored in-memory and is not retained after server restarts. Authentication tokens expire after 7 days. Comments posted via the Webynize widget are subject to Webynize's data retention policies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
